From traditional music recitals and dances to exciting puppet shows and world class entertainers, Ranbanka Palace takes you on an exotic journey into another era. The rich cultural performances feature artists whose families perfected their art for marwar's royal courts.
They are groups of hereditary professional musicians, whose music has been supported by the royal family for generations. At times of birth, marriage or any family festivity, the Langha singers are in attendance to evoke the right mood with songs of the desert. They create melodic compositions to praise their patrons and to convey the many legends of lore and stories of yore.
Performed by a tribe of the same name, Kalbelia or Kabeliya is one of the most sensuous dance forms of Rajasthan. It is inspired by the community's traditional profession of snake handling. The Kalbelia often compose lyrics spontaneously and improvise songs that are based on stories taken from folklore and mythology. Their songs and dances are part of an oral tradition that is handed down generations and have been declared a part of UNESCO's Intangible Heritage List.
